Align Matters provides investor and business advisory services to corporate clients, high net-worth individuals and investment fund managers who wish to do business in Europe. To establish your business in the Netherlands and to fully take advantage of what the country has to offer you need professional partners with deep expertise and a true alignment to your interests.

At Align Matters we support businesses and individuals with complete discretion and long- term commitment, assuring compliance, and enabling opportunity. We work with our clients to explore the possible, leveraging our network and our intimate understanding of the business environment.

Align Matters has defined three areas of attention in its mission statement.

Clients
We feel part of our client’s organisations and treat their businesses as if they were our own. Of course, we remain an advisor and as a result require to be critical if we do not agree with our clients opinion or actions. In these cases you can expect us to tell it as it is and to come forth with solutions.

Management Team

Dennis Kulk

Managing Director

Dennis joined Align Matters in July 2022 as the Legal Director. Dennis gained over 20 years of experience in the corporate services industry in financial, legal and management roles. His latest role was Vice President and Team Manager for private equity and real estate investment structures at one of the bigger fund administration and corporate service providers. This role included serving as a director on the board of client entities.

Jeroen van der Woord

Managing Director

Jeroen joined Align Matters as Managing Director in January 2024. He has over 30 years of experience in the international corporate services industry, with main focus on Europe and the Americas. After 10 years working abroad, Jeroen returned to the Netherlands to reorganize a small Dutch firm as COO. The reorganization resulted in a management buy-out and in 4 years’ time, the company doubled in size with a strongly improved profitability. The company was then sold to one of the largest Corporate Service Providers globally. In 2010 Jeroen ended his activities for this group and since that time he is involved with various projects as consultant or supervisory director. His specific field of expertise is the compliance function within the Business Support and Corporate Services industry and the interaction between compliance and the business operations. Jeroen was attracted to Align Matters’ drive to engage with new lines of business in the field of Investor Services and Business support and the values it maintains to work with its clients and employees.

Advisors

Pieter Bosse

Advisor

Since 2015 Pieter was one of the Managing Directors of Align Matters (and its predecessor) and his role changed to Advisor in 2022. In this role Pieter provides guidance and advice to the management team of Align Matters and maintains some of the longstanding client relationships in the portfolio.

Pieter has worked in the international corporate services industry for over 30 years. During this time he directed offices in Amsterdam, Curaçao and Aruba. He brings an in depth experience and a hands on approach in the fields of company management, accounting, finance, tax compliance and HRM.

Jacob Mook

Advisor

Experience Jacob Mook graduated in September 1986 from Leiden University with a degree in Tax Law.

He gained his initial work experience at the Tax and Customs Administration, serving as an inspector specializing in corporate tax. Since 1994, he has been employed at Grant Thornton and since 1996 till 2024 as a partner. Jacob has previously been a member of Grant Thornton’s board of directors and is involved in various international committees of Grant Thornton International. In addition to his work at Grant Thornton, Jacob has been a member of the Evaluation Committee of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB). This committee decides on admissions to NOB membership and provides specific guidelines on the education, knowledge, and experience requirements as mentioned in the statutes. Since June 2017, he is a member of the board of the Dutch Association for Tax Advisers (NOB), participating in the Horizontal Monitoring working group. Since January 1st 2024 Jacob is working for and co-owner of Align-Matters.

Industry Experience Jacob is primarily active in the fields of international tax law, corporate tax, and tax technology. Jacob’s portfolio encompasses a wide range of companies, from those engaged in the
fishing industry to the chemical industry and real estate.

In Memoriam

Lucassia van Delden

On 4 January 2024, Lucassia van Delden, our dear colleague at Align Matters sadly passed away.

Lucassia was Managing Director of Align Matters B.V. With her commitment, discipline, knowledge and experience she contributed to the growth of the company.

She has been a beloved colleague and leader of the Align Matters team since September 2019 and will be greatly missed.

In grateful memory of what she has meant to us, Lucassia will remain in our minds.
